A death in the family left me behind in my current coursework.
That is the reason I gave Baker College today. I asked to withdraw from two classes: Introduction to Business and Small Business Management.
The request was short. I included the student and course information the school needed, wrote that the family death had put me behind, and asked them to tell me when the withdrawal was complete.
Baker sent an automatic confirmation almost immediately. It says the request was received and will be processed in the next twenty-four to forty-eight business hours using today's submission date. It also warns that withdrawing can affect financial aid and counts as an attempted but incomplete course.
The automated message also gives the withdrawal deadlines for the current three-week and six-week sessions. My request arrived before both dates.
That confirmation is not the completed withdrawal. It is only confirmation that my email reached the queue.
I am not naming the person who died or adding details about the loss here. The message did not include them. It only connected the death to falling behind and asked the school for the administrative change.
Both courses are still part of the request until Baker processes it. The next communication should show the status of the account.
For today, I have stopped trying to catch up silently and asked for the withdrawal. School has received the request. I am waiting for the result.
Nothing in today's replies says the account has been changed yet.
The request remains pending.
