Monk Networks is orange.
The logo arrived tonight with a little bald monk sitting inside something that looks like a network diagram. The word MONK is huge. NETWORKS sits underneath it. The whole thing is bright orange.
Before tonight, the project existed in email threads, spreadsheets, an executive summary, and software being built in spare time. The current pitch is to operate infrastructure for startups using packaged components tied together with our software.
The logo message itself contains almost nothing. My partner attached the JPEG under the subject “Monk Networks Logo.” The body is only his signature.
One minute after it arrived, I forwarded the message to family. I added no review, explanation, or launch announcement. I simply passed along the attachment.
The mark shows a round orange figure with a white face and orange eyes. Lines and small nodes extend from the figure like a network. MONK sits in large block letters to the right, with NETWORKS underneath in smaller type.
The attachment is named 200800_logo_final.jpg. The background is white, the type is gray and orange, and the figure is drawn with simple circles and lines. It is more diagram than portrait.
That is what exists today: an original logo attachment for the name we have been using. It does not say the product is finished, the company has launched, or a customer has bought anything.
It does make the latest artifact easy to describe.
Tonight's message proves only that the file exists and reached me. I forwarded the exact attachment without changing it.
