Spring cleaning happened in June.
Few months late... But that's how we do it in NYC ;)
That was the caption I sent with the photos.
The apartment finally looks like we made an organized pass through the whole thing. The most obvious change is the shoe wall. Dark shelves sit above a packed clothing rack and an old dresser. Boots, heels, sneakers, hats, and bags use nearly every available inch.
The home office already has the whiteboard wall we painted in January. Now the rest of the place is catching up.
There are shelves, a cleaner living room, a better kitchen setup, and the normal collection of small things that make a New York apartment work harder than its square footage should allow.
A painting we found on the street made it inside too.
I took pictures of the shelves, the living room, and the rest of the cleanup, then emailed them out before the apartment could drift back toward normal.
This place has to be several things at once. It is our home. Work happens here. Clothing work happens here. There are multiple computers, boxes, equipment, clothes, and enough shoes to make the wall look like a store.
Some parts of the apartment look finished in the pictures. Other parts look like somebody stopped halfway through to answer an email.
That is probably exactly what happened.
The important thing is that the shelves are up, the room is clean, and we took pictures before the place could become a project again.
