I got the third job. Offered, I mean.

Now I have to decide if taking it is completely stupid.

Peek is job one. I just started the AdaptiveBlue consulting work. This new one is about fifty hours a month, helping a site get ready for massive growth. It is a ground-level startup with maybe three people.

My first reaction was that I kind of wanted to run with it.

There is a reason for all the extra work. Somebody close to me has been trying to build a clothing business while spending most of her time on work she does not like. If I can cover more of the bills, maybe she gets a real shot at making the clothes work.

The people around us are excited about that idea and also correctly worried that three jobs is a good way to burn myself out. The warning was friendly and very direct: go slowly before being strung out turns into resentment.

My answer was also direct:

If I crash and burn out... well shit, I can just start over again. Only young once ;)

This is not a complete plan. It is barely a theory.

We did paint an entire wall of the home office with whiteboard paint, which suddenly makes the apartment feel more workable. That is convenient because I keep adding more work.

I have not said yes to job three yet. I am trying to sort it out.

The decision can wait at least long enough for me to sleep on it.

I still kind of want to run with it.
